If you are a local high school teacher or community college faculty who teaches a STEM subject, and are interested in being part of this summer research program in Functional Materials, you can apply at our RET in Functional Materials web site. Pre-service teachers interested in teaching STEM subjects may also apply.
The lesson plans presented on this site use templates supplied by TeachEngineering.org which houses a tremendous number of STEM lesson plans for all levels K-12. You can find a plan there that works in your classroom or submit your own for publication.
MAST is a series of modules designed to expose high school teachers and students to the subject of Materials Science and Technology. The modules include content, laboratory exercises, and links to videos and other resources. We offer a course in the fundamentals of Materials Science to the participants in our summer program and use MAST materials as a course resource. Like our program, MAST was funded by the National Science Foundation.
